Works in Progress
Posted on Wednesday, November 4th, 2015 at 01:49Got me a mad busy writing schedule at the moment.
My morning and early afternoon were spent editing the rough draft of my Cthriller “With Strange Aeons: Book 1” that is now bearing the title “The Titans of Atlantis”, but may change yet.
And this evening I started work on the 1st draft of “Cyberpixies” getting most of Chapter 1 down (or rather up) in the cloud.
I’m not sure how long I’ll try this factory approach to writing, but at the moment it seems to be working quite well. “Cyberpixies” is a lot more plotted than “Titans” (I have roughed out a three-six book series for each depending on how they are recieved and have some other ideas in development as well), but because its intended for younger readers is a lot lighter in tone and the language is a lot simpler (and less sweary). Which makes it trickier to write, although I’m hoping it’ll get easier the more I write it.
Meanwhile Friday is game night and this month we are starting to play characters in the world that we’ve built. The players are all going to take roles in a Circus troop, from the Ringmaster down to the Roustabouts and Gillymen. I’ve taken some inspiration from horror movies and the world-building games and stirred in a hint of Killer/Psycho/Insane Clown (Posse) and Joker Mythos to create something new for the players to explore. Should be fun, but I need to find time in the editing/writing schedule to do some preparation of the new characters and the rest of the Circus acts. Maybe tomorrow…
