Sausage, Bacon, Egg, Chips and Spam
Posted on Tuesday, September 24th, 2013 at 15:41Yet again I seem to have done something to attract a variety of French Spambot.
Is it because my excellent books are available in French? No, because they aren’t. I’m an Indie author, if it was translated I’d be doing it myself, and while I may speak a little Bretonese, I don’t have a soupçon of Parisian langue’oui (or whatever it is). In fact being British (or more correctly Brythonic/Nordic/Anglo-Saxon) the thought of letting my beloved Tale of cosmic and temporal warfare be translated from English (mostly British- with some American for flavo[u]r) into a language I can’t read would be the ultimate exercise in trust. Trust that is very much destroyed by a wave of poorly translated comments that have little or nothing to do with the content of the posts.
I’d like to think that I’ve got pretty good at spotting the little spambots, but every now and then their statistically assembled comment nonsense gets under my radar. It reads like a google translated foreign language (which is what it probably is) and I push the tick.
It’s only when this suddenly brings a flurry of comments that I realise my mistake. Ah, well I guess I might have to install that “I’m a human” tick box sometime soon…
