Fixing the wife’s netbook

Well actually my netbook that she commandeered to read fanfics and then managed to nuke somehow. I tried installing chromium on it instead but the boys complained that they couldn’t play Tom & Jerry videos on it anymore so I investigated how much to get it fixed…

The local pc repair shop quoted £39 which is more than the cost of a DVD rewriter so I brought one of them instead and am now repairing the netbook… Busy day.

First I had to reconfigure the netbook to boot from CD (not so hard press F2) and now it claims to be reinstalling… Although drivers and extras will have to follow after…

In between reading % complete, I’m reading ‘Through a Scanner Darkly’ I’d forgotten how good it was…
